Ep. 43: Country Living v. City Living ft. Cube Steaks, Beans, & Strawberry Pie 🍓

Hey ya’ll! So, life is well here in Alderdale. Slow, peaceful, and sleepy.

I hope each one of you is having a wonderful moment 🦋

Today I wanted to talk about the different dynamics that are living in the city, and living in the country.

City folks, and country folks are two different breeds of people.

Country folks: slower lifestyle, typically large garden + canning, folk remedies, front porch sittin’, 5 ‘o clock starts at Noon, loud music country music, big trucks, hunters + fishers, outdoor sprinklers/water hose drinking, Religious, drivers, large lawns, beautiful sunsets, monthly grocery shopping,

City folks: more immediate lifestyle, smaller gardens/buys fresh veggies daily/weekly, smaller garden/no-garden, urgent care/hospital+OTC Meds, loud music, 5 ‘o clock starts after work, might not need a car+public transportation, eating out multi-weekly, Spiritual+Atheist,

Folks that live in the more rural populations seem to be more religious, whether Mormon, Catholic, or Christian. City folks seem to be more poly-theist, or non-theist. There are a ton of other differences as well—and there aren’t strict boundaries, duh. Some folks can be a mix of either, and still identify as country, or city.

The lifestyles are do have a different tempo. Which is fascinating! What do y’all think about it? Where are you, and how do you identify?

8.75/10. The “crunchy” pear in the middle was a NO GO. DAD.

Fried Cube Steak

Fried Cube Steak.

I am having a beautiful time here in Alderdale with my Pa. The pie was stunning; the pear within, a little crunchy for my liking.

All-in-all we are in good shape here 😀

(We put the fried cube steaks directly into the beans—I will let you know how it turns out (not my idea y’all, don’t come after me!))

I can’t believe that it is Wednesday 6/5/2024 @5:55pm PST as I write this. How magical ✨🦋
