Ep. 57: Homemade Bread 🍞 Ft. The Killer Bee 🐝

Hey folks! ⭐️ Welcome to Episode 57! Episode 50 is still cooking folks—you will be seeing it be posted sooner than later! Keep an eye on your inboxes 🙂

I would like to sincerely thank everyone that has taken the time to read, subscribe, comment and like my posts! It gives me great validation with all that I am doing; I will continue forward to produce mouth-watering content, helpful recipes, and maybe a few half decent reviews!

As I sit here writing this, it is the 5th of July and the celebrations this month are well behind us. I am looking forward to the colder months; my trip to Mexico changed my mind on preferred climate. It being above 80 degrees Fahrenheit every single day can wear very quickly on one’s nerves.

I say all of this because at 10:30am, I am nearly sweating in my bedroom with the window open; JEEZ-LA-WHEEZE.

Yesterday my Pa and I had a quick run-in with a “Murder Bee” or “Killer Hornet”—whatever you want to call it, it’s huge! I had only seen photos of them online, previous to today.

My Pa pulled out the vacuum and sucked it right up 🙂 We have it in a jar in the kitchen, as I type this. It has air, and water. Idk what Pa has planned. No bees were hurt for the production of this blog.

Ft. Murder Bee 🐝

I personally wanted to leave it alone—it was harmlessly drinking some water from the humming bird feeder. All of a sudden, my dad attacks. Idk folks, but the Killer Bee might have a case on its hands for harassment.

All I am saying is: If it goes to court, I don’t know which side I’m going to be on here. The moral dilemma of being a co-conspirator in kidnapping and harassment of wildlife. Let this blog be evidence of my remorse, and innocence in this whole ordeal. I rest my case.

In other news…my Pa’s bread is OUT OF THIS WORD. LIKE WHAT. He spend 30 minutes in the kitchen, and produces a simple loaf; an hour and a half later, we have DELICIOUS HOMEMADE BREAD. WTF.

Homemade Bread is my weakness, ya’ll. Simple, hot, fluffy, and such a delight in every bite! The amount of butter consumed last night, ya’ll should be worrying. lol 😆

Unfortunately, after a long time, the “Killer Bee” is no longer with us; I suspect my dad shaking the jar didn’t help. Asphyxiation seemed to be the most likely cause, along with some blunt force trauma lol 😂

Well, between bees, bread, and being here—I have enjoyed myself and time with my Pa.

Well, that’s all folks! I am wishing each and everyone reading this Love, Wealth, and Health! 💛

Simple Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/4 cups (390g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp or 7g) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (240ml) warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 tbsp (25g) sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
  • In a small bowl, mix the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  1. Prepare the Dough:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups (360g) of the flour and salt.
  • Add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil to the flour. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  • If the dough is too sticky, gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup (30g) of flour as needed.
  1. Knead the Dough:
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  1. First Rise:
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning it to coat all sides. Cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap.
  • Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  1. Shape the Dough:
  • Punch down the risen dough to release the air. Turn it onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a loaf.
  • Place the loaf in a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  1. Second Rise:
  • Cover the loaf with a damp cloth or plastic wrap. Let it rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until it has doubled in size again.
  1. Bake the Bread:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake the bread for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
  1. Cool the Bread:
  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
