Hey folks! Welcome to Episode 59! ⭐️ We are back in the past!
Today we are taking a step back from Food & Reviews, and talking about Life. More specifically: my life.
At 29 I consider myself a Nomad. That is, I have a very unique unattached lifestyle.
Some of the things I am most thankful for:
The amount of freedom: I don’t own a home, and will never “buy” one. I am happy renting and camping under the stars, or vanlife(ing) it.
The proximity to nature: nature has always been rejuvenating to me. Everything from the gusty breeze, to the running water, to the beautiful butterflies. Did I mention the night sky? Seeing all of the stars is otherworldly.
Slower pace, and less stress: you won’t catch me stuck in 5 o’clock rush hour on a Tuesday, or wearing a suit and tie to work each day, The 9-5 “pace” is completely unrealistic. In Spain, they take literal breaks throughout their work day/school day. WTF. I am moving to Spain pronto!
Sunsets + Sunrises: do I need to say more? Measure you life in captured Sunrises and Sunsets instead of $$$ and Classist Titles.
Minimal Impact Lifestyle: along with my nomadic lifestyle, I am also a minimalist; consequently I have a lower Ecological Footprint—and I am happy about this. Not taking part in Capitalism as much as possible!

Where Have I Been?
Washington: Seattle, Forks, Packwood, Seaside, Vancouver, Spokane, Bellingham, Yakima Valley, Mt. Helens, Mt. Rainer.
Oregon: Portland, Tillamook, Eugene, Salem, The Dalles, Coos Bay, Baker City, Astoria, Bend, Brothers/Sisters, The Willamette Valley, Mt. Hood
Idaho: Boise, Twin Falls, The Treasure Valley, Caldwell, Coeur d’Alene
California: San Francisco, Half-Moon Bay, the Bay Area, Eureka, Mt. Shasta, Weed.
New Mexico: Alamogordo, Juarez
Illinois: The Quad Cities, Chicago, Rock Island
Iowa: The Quad Cities
Nevada: Las Vegas
(Other states I have been in or have otherwise visited are: Utah, Colorado, Montana, Kansas, Arizona, Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, and The District of Columbia)
19/50 States. only. 31 more!

I have been through a lot of these, which would definitely include a lot more “stops” along the way. I am most familiar with Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. California is an unconquerable beast.
I really would enjoy seeing more of the surrounding mountains in Washington, and Oregon.
I would also like to explore Colorado, and Montana more; hopefully they are kind to guests. lol
Delaware, Philadelphia, New York, and Maine are a couple more of checking off my list!
My next planned excursion is happening later this month! I am going to be purchasing a van, and visiting and hiking all of the mountains in Washington and Oregon! I don’t know about ya’ll but mountains hold such peace and tranquility! AM I WRONG?? I am blessed to have grown up in such a beautiful state.
My mental health could use a natural-reset.

I have been comprising a “backpacking” list. Complete with a Tent, Hammock, Shovel, Cooking Utensils, Seasonings, Pack, and a Solar Charger.
A couple more things to purchase:
Bear Mace
Tarp
Butane
Multi tool + Knife
Dry Bag
Hat
Sun Screen + Bug Spray
Hiking Shoes (I am particular)
Where are some of you favorite places to hike, or camp?
With Love,
Daniel out! 💛
